A New Year...Ready for New Things

We are starting our Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum this month. The students that will be heading off to kindergarten in the fall will be starting workbooks and the younger children will be working on readiness activities and start their workbooks in the fall.
I am very excited about this program! I think you will like it too.
FYI --- Mr. Chad will be substituting for me on February 22nd and 23rd.
Please remember it is cold outside and your child needs to have Warm waterproof winter coat, snowpants, waterproof boots, hat and mittens EVERYDAY!
Also don't forget a blanket for rest time.
We are starting a new reading incentive. We are still filling in reading logs and keeping track of the books you read at home. Please remember that every friday we choose a name out of the "Look I Read a Book" box and someone wins a book! After we choose the winner. We still draw out the rest of the tickets and read them and each child gets to keep track of the number of books they've read. The girls really look forward to this and are extremely disappointed when they don't have any tickets :0( This time around we are working towards an ice cream party. For every five books they read they get to add another ingredient to their banana split. Banana, ice cream, sauce, whipped cream, cherry. The date of the party is Friday, February 12th.
They get what they earn. So for example if they only read 5 books they will just get a banana, 10 banana and ice cream...
